TALKING POINTS» The Kennesaw State basketball team will try and push its winning streak to four as the team flies down to Miami, Florida and take on Florida International on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
» This is the first three game winning streak for the Owls since the 2009-10 season, when the team beat Stetson, Mercer and Florida Gulf Coast.
» Against Chattanooga, KSU was 34-44 from the free throw line with
Yonel Brown going 18-21. The junior point guard set a new career high and tied the KSU record with 32 points in the game against the Mocs.
THE COMPETITIONFlorida International FIU is 4-3 so far this season topping Florida College, Stetson, Florida Memorial and Wright State. The Panthers have played two Atlantic Sun teams early in 2014, beating Stetson 53-52 and losing to USC Upstate 68-53. FIU is coached by Anthony Evans, who is in his second season as head coach.
Last time out
Florida International won 66-58 during the KSU Men's Basketball Tournament. Delbert Love tied a school record hitting six threes and had 24 points in the game, but it wasn't enough as the Owls fell by eight points.

This Week in KSU Men's Basketball » After going 2-0 at home, the Owls travel to Miami, Florida to play Florida International on Monday night at 7:30.
» On Saturday, KSU will look to stay undefeated in the Convocation Center as they host Kent State at noon.
KSU as a Team » This is the first three game winning streak for the Owls since the 2009-10 season, when the team beat Stetson, Mercer and Florida Gulf Coast.
» Beating Samford and Chattanooga marks the first time that the Owls have ever won against the first two NCAA Division I opponents they have faced at home.
» KSU has been heating up from the field, setting a new program record against Samford shooting 60 percent. The Owls shot 43-percent against North Dakota State followed by a 45-percent outing against Alcorn State.
» In what was a grueling early season schedule, KSU faced off against four 2013-14 NCAA Tournament teams during the first four games.
» Against Chattanooga, the team was 34-44 from the free throw line shooting 77.3 percent. Both of these marks were the second most in school history.

Yonel Brown set a new career high and tied the KSU points record with 32 points in the game against Chattanooga. He also set new program records in free throws and free throws attempted going 18-21 from the charity stripe. Brown is now leading the team in scoring averaging 14.0 points per game.
» With Brown making 89.2 percent of his free throws and
Delbert Love making 87.5 percent of his free throws, they sit in the top two spots in the Atlantic Sun rankings.
» Brown, the floor general, leads the A-Sun in minutes played through seven games averaging 35.7 minutes per game.
» Junior
Nigel Pruitt earned 2K Classic All-Tournament Team honors after going off for 20 points against North Dakota State followed by 11 against Alcorn State. Pruitt is second on the squad in points per game with 13.7.

Orlando Coleman leads the team with three double-doubles, earning 14 points and 12 rebounds at Mercer followed by a career-high 20-point, 12-rebound contest at Alcorn State and 12 points and 10 rebounds against Samford.
» In the paint,
Willy Kouassi has been a force for the Owls, leading the conference with 15 blocks, four more than anyone else. The center has multiple blocks in five of the past six games and also has won six of the first seven opening tips for KSU.
