THE OPPONENT:ColumbiaThe Lions enter Saturday's contest coming off back-to-back overtime wins over Rhode Island (79-69) on Monday and Bradley (81-74) in their most recent outing on Wednesday. Columbia is 3-0 in the friendly confines of Levien Gymnasium and has registered all three of its losses on the road. The Lions have four players averaging double figures and are paced by Tori Oliver with 17.8 points per game and Camille Zimmerman with 15.7 points per game. Alexa Giuliano adds 11.2 poing per contest, while Sara Mead adds 10.2 per game. Columbia is averaging 73.5 points per contest and owns a +4.8 rebounding margin.
THE SERIES:This will be the second-ever meeting between the Owls and the Lions, with Columbia leading the series 1-0 after taking a 78-61 win in the first meeting between the two schools last season on Dec. 21, 2013. Former Owl

LAST TIME OUT:The Kennesaw State women's basketball team erased a 19-point second half deficit against Big East foe Seton Hall, but the comeback fell just short as the Owls suffered a 77-74 setback on Wednesday (Nov. 26) at Walsh Gymnasium. NEWS AND NOTES:Best Start Since 2007-08The Owls had their best start to a season since the 2007-08 campaign after registering three wins in the first four games to open 2014-15. KSU posted back-to-back wins to start the season for the first time since 2007-08 as well.
DefenseKSU is playing tough defense this season, holding opponents to just 64.4 points per game, which ranks fourth in the A-Sun. The Owls also rank third in three-point field goal defense and are holding opponents to just 25 percent behind the arc.
Free ThrowsThe Owls lead the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 77.1 free throw percentage and have converted on 74-of-96 shots from the charity stripe. KSU shot a season-high 85.2 percent (23-of-27) from the free throw line in its win at Tennessee State on Nov. 17.
KSU Shooting it WellAlong with its strong defensive presence, the Owls are shooting it well and rank third in the conference with a 40.5 percentage from the field.

Jasmine McAllister is leading the league with 12.2 rebounds per game, while also ranking fourth in the conference with 15.2 points per game.

Sawyers on the GlassSawyers also ranks in the top-10 in the conference in rebounding with 6.2 boards per contest, good for 10th in the league.
Mosely from the FieldMosely is shooting at a 52.8 clip from the field, which sits third in the A-Sun. She has converted on 19-of-36 shots in her one and only season with the Owls. McAllister sits right behind her with a 51.8 percentage from the field and is fourth in the league.
Frye Dishing the RockJunior
Karly Frye is averaging 4.6 assists per game, ranking her second in the conference and has dished out 23 helpers on the year.
Wells from the Charity StripeWells has led the Owls from the charity stripe and ranks fifth in the conference with an 87 percentage from the free throw line, going 20-of-23 through five games this season. She opened the season with 16-straight free throws, before missing her first two attempts on Saturday at Georgia Southern.
