THE OPPONENT:Georgia SouthernThe Eagles come into Saturday's game with a 1-1 record after splitting its opening two games of the season. GSU dropped its season opener to Lipscomb, 80-74, before rebounding for a 78-65 win over Jacksonville on Tuesday. The Eagles have three players averaging double-digit points, led by Angel McGowan with 22.5 points per game, followed by Anna Claire Knight with 13.5 points and Briana Jones with 11.5 points per game. Knight is also leading GSU with 7.5 rebounds per contest. The Eagles are shooting 42.2 percent from the field so far this season and are averaging 45 rebounds and 14 turnovers per contest.
THE SERIES:This will be the third all-time meeting between the Owls and the Eagles, with the series all-square at one win for each program. KSU and GSU last met during the 2009-10 season, with the Eagles coming out on top, 80-67, on Dec. 21, 2009 in Statesboro. Former Owl standout

Kristina Wells added 11 points and three steals.
NEXT UP:Kennesaw State heads to New York City for the Thanksgiving holiday as the Owls will play a pair of games next week. KSU first takes on Seton Hall in Walsh Gymnasium on Wednesday, Nov. 26 in South Orange, N.J., before facing Columbia in Levien Gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 29 in New York.
NEWS AND NOTES:Best Start Since 2007-08With back-to-back wins to start the 2014-15 campaign, the Owls posted their best start to a season since the 2007-08 season, when KSU also began the year with a pair of victories.
Three-Point DefenseKSU is holding its opponent's to just a 25 percent mark from behind the arc, ranking in tie for second in that category in the A-Sun as opponents only making 12-of-48 three-pointers against the Owls.
Free Throw LeadersThe Owls lead the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 81.0 free throw percentage and have converted on 47-of-58 shots from the charity stripe. KSU shot a season-high 85.2 percent (23-of-27) from the free throw line in Monday's win at Tennessee State.

Breonna Mosely each recorded double-double performances in Monday's road win over Tennessee State. McAllister registered 25 points and 14 rebounds, while Mosely posted 13 points and 10 rebounds. The last pair of Owls to record double-doubles in the same contest was
