Women's Results | Men's ResultsLouisville, KY. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's cross country team's competed in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, October 04, at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.
Freshman
Katrine Rasmussen (18:07.27) led the women's 5K race for the Owls, finishing 95th with a time of 18:19.55.
Sophomore
Kidan Kidane (18:29.53) finished 121st overall, while
Joyce Mattagliano (18:59.95) notched a 178 place finish. Senior
Sydney Williams grabbed 194th place while junior
Greciana Cooper finished 210
th to help the Owls grab a 27
th place finish.
"I thought the women ran well," cross country head coach
Joel Pearson said. "Kidan (Kidane) and Katrine (Rasmussen) continue to lead the family. Greciana (Cooper) is running up to where she should be. Once Evalina is healthy we will be ready to go."
In the men's 8K race,
Daniel Garcia lead the way for the Owls for the second consecutive meet, finishing 27th overall with a time of 24:41.40.
Fellow newcomer
Dylan Titon was the next Owl to cross the finish line as he turned in a time of 25:28.09 to place 90th. Freshman
Cameron Gatt placed 225th, running a 27:17.26 while
Jordan Hand grabbed a 227
th place finish with a time of 27:22.24. Veteran
Natan Reuter rounded out the top 5 to help the Owls secure 25th place overall.
"Jordan Hand performed really well today, Pearson said". He is really stepping up to be the best number 5 he can be.
