Kennesaw State Men Take Fourth, Women Fifth at Conference USA Cross Country Championships

11/1/2025 2:23:00 PM

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Kennesaw State cross country teams competed Saturday at the Conference USA Cross Country Championships at John Hunt Park.

The KSU men finished fourth overall, while the women secured fifth place.

In the women's 6K, Madison Seiler placed 12th with a time of 20:48.36 to earn second-team All-Conference honors. Emma Ferguson followed with a time of 21:02.48, and Akshana finished 27th in 21:18.22. Samantha McGarity (21:44.53) and Riley Perlakowski (21:52.81) placed 52nd and 57th, respectively, to round out the scoring.

In the men's 8K, Collins Kipkemboi finished second with a time of 23:40.1. Brian Limo crossed the line in 23:49.58 to take third, and Edwin Kiprono ran 24:14.53 to finish fifth. Noah Sybert (26:00.48) and Andrew Stricklin (26:13.79) completed the scoring, placing 53rd and 57th, respectively.

Head Coach Adam Bray

On the men's performance:
"Obviously our top three guys just absolutely crushed it. Three guys in the top five overall was awesome to watch. Noah Sybert and Andrew Stricklin had what I felt were their best races of the year, and that helped us to a fourth-place finish as a team. That's better than we were predicted and an improvement over last year. I'm proud of the men's team for giving everything they have."

On the women's performance:
"Finishing the way we did is quite disappointing. I felt like Madison Seiler ran tough and had a good race to earn second-team All-Conference honors. Kelly Miles continues to improve, and I thought she ran great. We are better than our team result, in my opinion, but the young people on the team need to realize that. We must get back to work to correct this because it is unacceptable in my opinion."
