KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's cross country runner
Daniel Garcia earned his third career Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week honor for his performance at the Crimson Classic, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
"We are thrilled to have Daniel win his third Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week award," Cross Country Coach
Joel Pearson said. "His performance at the Crimson Classic was awesome! We look forward to the Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championships next weekend as well as the NCAA South Regional Championships where Daniel will look to qualify for the national championships."
A freshman business major from Barcelona, Spain, Garcia grabbed a second place finish with an 8k time of 24:58.30 in the 31-team, 261-individual field, helping the Owls finish 19th as a team.
Garcia was also named runner of the week on September 3 for his performance in the Clemson Invitational and on September 24
th for his performance in the UF Mountain Dew Invitational.
Garcia and the Owls will run in the Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 1st, in DeBarry, Fla.
