Women's ResultsTuscaloosa, Ala. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's cross country team's competed in the Crimson Classic on Friday, October 17, at the Harry Pritchett Running Course .
In the men's 8K race,
Daniel Garcia lead the way for the Owls for the fourth consecutive meet, finishing 2nd overall out of 261 runners with a time of 24:58.30. Garcia now has a top-three finish in three of the Owls four meets so far this season.
Fellow newcomer
Dylan Titon was the next Owl to cross the finish line as he turned in a time of 26:00.72 to place 39th. Freshman
Jordan Hand placed 158th, running a 27:54.73 while
Cameron Gatt grabbed a 167
th place finish with a time of 28:04.34. Veteran
Natan Reuter rounded out the top 5 to help the Owls secure 19th place.
"Danny performed the race plan perfectly tonight," cross country head coach
Joel Pearson said. "He really showed tonight why he should be a NCAA Championships qualifier. Jordan Hand continues to improve on a meet-by-meet basis. His hard work during our training sessions is really starting to show."
Freshman
Katrine Rasmussen (18:07.27) led the women's 5K race for the Owls for the second straight meet, finishing 55th with a time of 18:26.92.
Junior
Claire Bohrer (19:27.45) finished 121st overall, while senior
Sydney Williams (19:34.11) notched a 127th place finish. Sophomore
Kidan Kidane grabbed 144th place while
Kennedy Sorge finished 148
th to help the Owls grab a 20
th place finish.
"I thought Katrine and Claire ran very well tonight," Pearson said. "I am really proud of Claire (Bohrer). I think she ran one of the best races of her career tonight. Overall, We are looking forward to getting back to work and preparing for the upcoming Atlantic Sun Championships."
Kennesaw State will head to DeBary, Florida on Saturday, November 1 to run in the Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championships at River City Nature Park.
