THE MATCHES:
The Kennesaw State volleyball team returns home to the friendly confines of the KSU Convocation Center this weekend, taking on Jacksonville and North Florida in a pair of crucial Atlantic Sun Conference matches.

The Owls take on Jacksonville Friday night at 7 p.m. ET in an ESPN3 featured contest before wrapping-up the weekend against North Florida on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.

Friday will serve as Decades Night where fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite decade's wardrobe as well as Family Fun Friday. On Saturday, campers are invited to come watch the Owls take the court with all kids invited to stay after the match for a free clinic with KSU head coach
Keith Schunzel.

As always, admission to both matches is free of charge.

THE OPPONENTS:
Jacksonville  Â
The Dolphins of Jacksonville are currently enjoying one of the best starts in recent memory at 12-2 overall and 3-1 in the league standings. JU ranks in the top three in the A-Sun in every major statistical category and are led individually by sophomore Sammie Strausbaugh, who holds 168 kills and a .300 attack percentage.

North Florida         Â
North Florida arrives in Kennesaw, Ga. at just 4-10 overall and 1-3 in the A-Sun, but has shown improvement as of late, especially on the defensive end. The Ospreys are holding opponents to just a .195 hitting percentage and are averaging nearly 15 digs per set, putting them in the top five in the A-Sun.

The Owls are back on the road for four straight, starting on Oct. 11-12, at Northern Kentucky and Lipscomb.
NEWS AND NOTES:
Opening Up A-Sun Play
The Owls opened up Atlantic Sun Conference play this past week with a 1-1 record, defeating USC Upstate in straight sets before falling to ETSU, 3-1.
Home Court Advantage
The Owls are holding a 5-1 record this season when playing at the KSU Convocation Center.
Offensive Force
Freshman outside hitter
Kelly Marcinek currently leads the team with 172 kills, putting her tops in the Atlantic Sun Conference in kills for a freshman and in eighth overall.
Pedraza on Defense
Libero Camille Pedraza now ranks second in the A-Sun standings with 237 total digs, giving the senior a 4.31 digs per set average.

Metroka's Assists
Senior setter
Sara Metroka is just six assists shy of reaching number 500 on the year, giving her 3,704 for her record-setting career.

Witt at Stetson
Sophomore
Michelle Witt had a career-day against Stetson this past weekend, earning 31 assists, nine digs and five kills.

Double-Doubles
Both
Emily Bean and
Sara Metroka recorded their first double-doubles of the year last weekend, Metroka earning 39 assists and 13 digs at FGCU and Bean going for 16 digs and 11 kills against Stetson.
