THE MATCHES:
The Kennesaw State volleyball team begins the second round of Atlantic Sun Conference play this week, taking to USC Upstate on Tuesday, Oct. 22 before hosting Stetson on Oct. 25 and Florida Gulf Coast on Oct. 26.

Two of the three matches for the Owls this week will be featured on ESPN3 including the road match against the Spartans at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday and the 7 p.m. ET Friday night showdown against Stetson in the KSU Convocation Center.

Fans attending Friday's home match against Stetson are encouraged to wear pink along with the Owls in support of the fight against breast cancer. The game will also be a Family Fun Friday with inflatables and free popcorn for kids.

The Owls will then celebrate Halloween on Saturday with those who show up in costume eligible to participate in a costume contest along with our very own Scrappy. Candy will also be given out throughout the 3 p.m. ET match.

As always, attendance is free for those who wish to attend.

THE OPPONENTS:
USC UPSTATEÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Upstate enters the Tuesday night game having won just two games this season and is currently on a two-game losing skid. The Spartans are, however, tops in the A-Sun in digs with 1,120 total and 15.8 digs per set.

STETSONÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â
After starting off the A-Sun portion of its schedule with four straight wins, Stetson has cooled off as of late, going just 2-3 in its last five league matches. Senior Kaylee Melville continues to lead the offense with 299 kills and .243 attack percentage.

FLORIDA GULF COASTÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
FGCU continues to be one of the most consistent teams in the A-Sun in 2013, holding at third in the standings with a 6-3 record. The Eagles are one of the top blocking teams in the conference with a total of 143.5 this season.

NEXT UP:
The Owls will be back on the road for a midweek game on Oct. 29 at East Tennessee State before two more at home against Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky over the weekend.

Going the Distance
After the five-set win over Mercer this past weekend, the Owls have now played a total of six five set matches, more than any other team in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
Metroka's Milestones
Senior setter
Sara Metroka is on the verge of two career milestones, closing in on her 4,000th assist sitting at 3,938, and on the school career sets played record of 396, holding just three shy at 393.
Century Mark
Libero
Camille Pedraza has now joined
Sara Metroka in the century club with over 100 matches played for Kennesaw State.
Emily Bean will be the next to join the club as the senior currently has 96 matches played
Double-Doubles
Toure Hopkins has been a double-double machine for the Owls, earning four on the year after yet another double-figure performance at Mercer in which she totaled 17 digs and 11 kills during the win.

Killing the Competition
Freshman
Kelly Marcinek continues to be one of the top hitters in the A-Sun, sitting at eighth overall with 242 kills, the most of any freshmen in the conference.
