STATESBORO, Ga. - The men's tennis team completed their weekend of redemption by downing Georgia Southern (1-9) on Sunday, 6-1.  It marked the second consecutive match the Owls (5-3) took out an opponent who defeated them in 2011.  The Owls took the doubles point in a close contest before racing to quick wins at No. 1, 2 and 6 to put the match out of reach.

In the doubles, the Owls picked up wins from the freshman duo of Alex Toliver and Louis Theodor, as well as the team of Simon Janik and Alexander Pena, who closed out their match, 8-5, to wrap up the early advantage for the Owls.

In singles, quick wins at No. 6 by Pena and Gokalp Ozdemir at the No. 5 spot gave the Owls a 3-0 lead before Toliver sealed the win with a routine 6-4, 6-0 win over Eagle No. 1 Alain Garrido.  Picking up three set wins for the Owls were Janik and Gianni Kubin, who fought back from a 6-4, 4-1 deficit to defeat Andrew Dromsky, 4-6, 7-6(4), 1-0(4).

"Today was a good match for us," commented Head Coach #T.J. Greggs#. "I felt like we did what we set out to do, which was get off to good starts and let our opponents know we weren't going to let them in the match."

The Owls, winners of four of their last five matches, next head to Chattanooga for a matchup with the Mocs on February 25. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
