KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men’s tennis team continues its fall tournament play on Friday morning as it travels to Clarksville, Tenn. to compete in the Austin Peay Invitational which will be held at the Governors Tennis Center.
The Owls had one of their best total team efforts last weekend when they took home two titles playing in the Steve Baras Invitational against eight different schools in Belmont, Chattanooga, ETSU, Jacksonville State, Lee University, Memphis, North Alabama and South Florida.
Senior
Tyler Mills went undefeated in singles play on the weekend to take home the Singles White Flight title. The title marks the second time that Mills has won at this event in his career. The other title of the weekend went to the doubles team of senior
Simon Janik and freshman
Alex Toliver who won the Doubles Blue Flight title.
“After the successful weekend we had at Chattanooga, I am really hoping we can ride that momentum and continue to play well this weekend at Austin Peay,” head coach #T.J. Greggs# said. “We're going to give some different people looks at different draws this weekend, with promoting Alex Toliver to the top flight of singles. I think he's ready for the challenge. We'll also be challenging Tyler to step it up as he moves up to a higher draw as well. This is a solid tournament with some very good teams, but I feel like we are one of those good teams and I expect the men to perform their best.”
Play will start on Friday, October 7 at 9 a.m.
