Kim Fletcher

Kim Fletcher enters her fifth season as an assistant coach in the Kennesaw State volleyball program on July 1, 2013 after a storied career both on and off the volleyball court.

Fletcher has been with head coach Keith Schunzel his entire time at Kennesaw State after spending two years on the collegiate coaching ranks with stints at South Dakota State in 2008 and in 2007 as a volunteer assistant at Kennesaw State.

As a player, Fletcher spent four seasons as a middle hitter at Notre Dame, helping take the Irish to an NCAA Tournament appearance each year she was in the lineup.

Upon graduating from Notre Dame with degrees in Anthropology and Computer Applications, Fletcher joined the U.S. Peace Corps, volunteering for two years in Essau, Gambia before returning to America to go to graduate school at Western Kentucky.

After grad school, she got into the coaching ranks as a volunteer assistant with Kennesaw State in 2007.

Fletcher then spent 2008 with the Jackrabbits before playing professional volleyball in Austria in 2009.

Since her return to Georgia, Fletcher has been heavily involved in the club volleyball scene, serving as a director of the non-travel teams at Cobb Atlanta Juniors.

Fletcher’s accomplishments in the classroom are just as impressive as her accolades on the volleyball court, earning a master’s degree in Sociology from Western Kentucky University and earning her doctoral degree in International Conflict Management from Kennesaw State.
