Jennifer Charles

Jennifer Charles begins her first season as a member of the Kennesaw State volleyball coaching staff in 2012. Charles will focus mainly on the growth of the team’s middle blockers while also helping breakdown film and run practices.

Charles arrives on campus young in her coaching tenure, having served most recently as an assistant coach at Midland College in Midland, Texas. Under the tutelage of National Junior College Athletic Association Region IV Coach of the Year Tammie Jimenez, Charles helped guide three All-Conference players to breakout seasons in 2011.

Prior to her work at Midland, Charles spent one year on the Division I level  as an assistant coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where her primary duties included film breakdown and development of the team’s middle blockers.

Charles began her career in coaching after a standout playing career at Georgia Southern University where she still holds the school’s career blocks record with 462. A part of the 2003 Southern Conference championship squad, Charles also served as a team captain her senior season and was named the Georgia Southern Defensive Player of the Year.

Academically, Charles was honored as an Academic Achievement Scholar Athlete all four seasons she was at Georgia Southern, earning a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management in December of 2007.
