Prior to 2025, Murguia made a call to Rebecca Womer, an old teammate of hers at Georgia to join the Owls. The graduate student came out of a two-year hiatus and arrived at The Nest. The dividends paid off as Womer led all players with 10 points and four goals. KSU displayed their greatest offensive output in nearly a decade as it defeated Alabama State 7-1 (Sept. 17). It was the most goals the Owls had netted in a single match since 2016, as there were six unique goal scorers. At the end of the season, defender Raelyn Prince received third team All-CUSA honors as she bagged three goals and tallied two assists for eight points.
Highlighting the 2024 season was the Owls' 3-0 win over eventual Conference USA champion FIU, handing the Panthers their lone league loss. That game saw the program’s first CUSA Offensive Player of the Week in Tianna Rivera. Rivera cemented herself as a KSU all-time great posting a career-best season with seven goals, four assists and 18 points. She became the program's first All-CUSA honoree, receiving second team accolades. She was also named to the USC All-Region Third Team.
Murguia began her tenure as an assistant coach in the 2023 season. KSU recorded seven shutouts this season, including four in conference play. She oversaw the continued development of Tianna Rivera, who received third team All-ASUN honors after starting all 19 matches and leading the Owls in points (7) and goals (3).
She comes fresh from her playing days at the University of Georgia, playing all four years of her collegiate career as a Bulldog. Playing as an attacking midfielder and forward, Murguia earned top notch accolades like: SEC All-Tournament ('22), SEC Preseason Watch List ('22), two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Team. Along with those, she currently holds the single season all-time record at UGA for most assists in a season with 11.Â
Although she has a plethora or experience playing, she also has coached for several years. She served as the assistant coach at UGA soccer camps from 2019-2022 assisting players one-on-one. She was also the lead coach in the Highland Football Club camps in the summer of '22. Outside of camps, she has been a personal coach helping players fine tune their technical skills, agility, and speed of play.
