Staci Williams enters her second season at Kennesaw State and brings more than 12 years of lacrosse coaching experience with her. At KSU, Coach Williams has been put in charge of producing a tough Defensive Unit.
Williams comes to KSU after spending two year as the head coach at Whittier College. Whittier is an NCAA Division III program that is a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. At Whittier, Williams lead the team to the best winning record making it to SCIAC Conference play, the most All SCIAC first team and second team players while making the IWLCA All-Academic Team.
Prior to her time at Whittier, Williams briefly coached at the Thousand Oaks Club out in Thousand Oaks, California. At Thousand Oaks, Williams worked with a variety of talent levels, so she would use different drills to make sure that all of the girls were instructed. She also helped players that wanted to play in college receive maximum exposure from coaches.
Before moving out to California, Williams was the girl’s lacrosse coach at Nansemond Suffolk Academy for three years. During her time at Nansemond Suffolk Academy, she would not only help the athletes on the lacrosse field, but would also work with the girls to ensure maximum leadership was obtained on and off and the field.
While coaching at Nansemond Suffolk Academy, Williams also coached at the Hampton Roads Lacrosse Club. She would help schedule tournaments and coordinate travel arrangements, while also managing the clubs budget. Williams would coordinate and execute the summer league program for middle school and high school girls.
Prior to working at Nansemond Suffolk Academy and Hampton Roads, Williams was the Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Villanova while finishing up her Master’s Degree with her internship working in the athletic ticket office.. At Villanova, as an assistant,she would plan and implement plays for practices and games and coordinated travel arrangements for the team.
While a senior in college, Williams was offered an Assistant coaching job at Buffalo State College, a Division III school. After her first year as an assistant she was promoted to Head Coach while leading Buffalo State to their first winning season and largest recruiting class in school history to that date.
Williams played lacrosse at Canisius College from 1998-2000. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, Williams had broken the schools assists record and was second all-time for most goals. She was voted most valuable attacking player all three seasons she played. She would also get a graduate degree from Canisius in Sport Administration.
Williams and her husband, Garrett, reside in Acworth with their three sons Konner, and identical twins Aaron and Easton.
