After making an impact in her first season as an assistant coach, Amy Martin was promoted to first assistant entering her second year at Kennesaw State.
"During her time here at Kennesaw State, Amy has shown her total investment in the student athletes and our success as a program," Kristina Llanes said. "She has worked tirelessly and I am excited to recognize her effort and commitment through this promotion."
Â
Martin’s primary responsibilities are coaching the goalies as well as being the main point of contact for incoming student athletes.
In her first season as an assistant coach, the goalies showed a big improvement in the cage. Allison Senft and Elaine Bradley combined to have nine double-digit save outings.
Â
Senft won the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week after making her 15th save of the game in the final seconds against LIU Brooklyn to preserve a one goal win for the Owls.
Â
In the final game of the season against Furman, Elaine Bradley set a new school record with 16 saves in the game keeping the Owls close in the quarterfinals  of the A-Sun Tournament.
Â
Prior to Kennesaw State, Martin was a graduate assistant at Wagner. She developed the goaltenders along with the defense in her two seasons. She helped the Seahawks reach their first NEC Championship game along with achieving their best record since 2005 (11-7).
Â
In college at Holy Cross, Martin was a four-year starter in the net. She was named the 2010 Patriot League Goalie of the Year as well as landing on the 2010 First Team All Patriot League. In high school, she won three state and regional championships and was inducted into the Detroit Catholic League Hall of Fame in 2011.
Â
A native of Harbor Springs, MI, Martin earned her Masters in Education at Wagner College in 2014.
