Mattone joins the Owls after a year at Manatee Community College...was an all-conference selection and shot 50.0 percent from the floor while ranking among the nation[apos]s leaders in free throw percentage (84.0) and three-point percentage (46.0)...played the 2005-06 season at East Carolina where he appeared in nine games for the Pirates...he scored his first collegiate points in his debut against Old Dominion when he connected on a three-pointer. Mattone enjoyed a successful prep career at St. Andrew[apos]s High School in Barrington, R.I. where he scored 1,100 points and had over 500 assists...he was a Street & Smith All-American in his junior and senior year and was a McDonald[apos]s All-American after averaging 16 points and six assists in his senior season...also enrolled in prep school at IMG Academy in Tampa, Fla. where he averaged 17.5 points per game.
