2008-09 Season
One of two players, along with Kurtis Woods, to play in and start all 29 games for the Owls … Was 25th in the conference in scoring at 10.1 points per game and 14th in the A-Sun in rebounding with 5.6 rebounds per game … Finished 10th in the A-Sun in blocked shots at 0.79 blocks per game … Had three double-doubles last season and was the lone Kennesaw State player to accomplish the feat … Had back-to-back double-doubles when he scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Clark Atlanta (11/18/08) and followed with a 19-point, 10-rebound game at James Madison (11/21/08) … Scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds vs. USC Upstate (12/1/08) in which he also hit the game-winning shot as time expired in the Owls one-point victory … Was the Owls leader in five categories last season including field goals made, free-throws made, rebounds, rebounds per game and defensive rebounds … Led Kennesaw State in scoring in seven times including a career-high 20-point game against North Florida (2/7/09) at the KSU Convocation Center … Was one of three Kennesaw State players, along with Kelvin McConnell and Kurtis Woods, to average in double figures … Led Kennesaw State in rebounds in 12 games and five times had nine or more rebounds in a game … Blocked four shots against Clark Atlanta (11/18/08) … Had the game of the year for Kennesaw State when he led the Owls in each of the five major offensive categories in the Black and Gold’s overtime win over North Florida (2/7/09) … He led the Owls with 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocked shots, marking the only time a KSU player led the team in each category in a game.

Scored 10 points on 4-for-5 shooting from the field and 2-for-2 at the free-throw line versus Clark Atlanta (12/8/07) ... Grabbed five rebounds and had a team-high two steals at Maryland- Eastern Shore (12/11/07) ... Had a team-high four steals at Texas State (12/28/07) where he also scored 11 points in 37 minutes ... Had a pair of blocks at UNLV (12/28/07) ... Grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in 22 minutes versus Minnesota (12/29/07) ... Scored 11 points and blocked two shots in the Owls victory over Savannah State (1/29/08) ... Pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and blocked a shot at USC Upstate (2/1/08) ... Shot 7-for-12 from the field, scoring a season and team-high 17 points versus Campbell (2/7/08) ... Matched a season-high with eight rebounds in Kennesaw State's consecutive victories over Stetson (2/14/08) and Florida Gulf Coast (2/16/08) ... Played in 29 games, starting 18 for the Owls ... Made his collegiate debut against Western Kentucky (11/11/06), where he went 2-for-4 from the field while scoring his first five points ... made his first collegiate start versus Alabama State (12/30/06), scoring four points on 2-for-3 shooting ... Led the team in field goal percentage, shooting nearly 56 percent (60-for-108) from the field ... Finished the season second on the squad in blocks with 20, averaging 0.7 blocks per game ... Played 25 minutes and scored a season high 19 points while shooting 8-for-11 from the floor in a win over Campbell (2/4/07) ... Recorded season-highs in minutes played (30), steals (4) and rebounds (11) in Owl's first match-up with Camels (1/6/07) ... Shot a season-high 75.0 percent (6-for-8) from the field and recorded a season and team game-high four blocked shots versus Longwood (12/23) ... Averaged 14 minutes and 4.6 points per game ... shot 58.8 percent (10-for-17) from the free throw line.
Prep Career
Nickerson came to the Owls program after playing minor league baseball for three seasons ... Drafted in the 16th round by the Florida Marlins organization in 2003 where he was used primarily as a pitcher for the Jamestown Jammers of the New York-Penn League ... Prior to being drafted to play baseball, Nickerson enjoyed a successful prep career at Stan Hope Elmore High School in Millbrook, Ala. ... Playing for head coach Nehemiah Jones, Nickerson averaged 27 points a game during his senior season while leading his school to the state finals.
