Perkins Carden is in his second year on the Owls' staff after joining the program in June of 2025.

Carden reunited with Coach Pettway after serving at Alabama as a student-manager from 2019-23. After graduating in May of 2023, Carden stayed with the Crimson Tide as a graduate assistant. Alabama reached the postseason twice during his time as a GA, including the program’s first Final Four appearance in 2024 and a run to the Elite Eight in 2025.
 
In Carden’s first season at Kennesaw State, the Owls won 21 games, secured the Conference USA tournament title, and made their second ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Carden received his master's degree in hospitality management from Alabama in May of 2025 before making the move to Kennesaw.
