McFerrin…Team captain and significant contributor on defense while helping the Dragons win the 2012 Class AA State Championship…Named Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC), Associated Press (AP) and Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) Class AA Defensive Player of the Year…Region 8AA Defensive Player of the Year…A Gainesville Times All-Area linebacker in 2011 and 2012…Earned Athens Banner Herald All-Area in 2012…Totaled 189 total tackles, including 110 solo tackles, 26 tackles for a loss and 7.5 sacks…Also had one interception, six pass breakups and one blocked field goal during senior year….Over 370 tackles in high school career…Also played basketball.
