Rob Reyburn is an athletic trainer for Kennesaw State where he works with the Owls’ football program. In his role, Reyburn assists with the daily medical management of football student-athletes and collaborates as part of the university’s sports medicine team to evaluate, treat and rehabilitate athletic-related injuries.
Reyburn joined Kennesaw State in July 2024 after spending the 2023–24 season at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as an assistant football athletic trainer. While at Charlotte, he supervised undergraduate and graduate athletic training students, emphasized continuity of care through shared rehabilitation plans and outcome measures, and served on both the athletic training student management and alumni engagement committees.
From 2020 to 2023, Reyburn served as associate head athletic trainer for football at Western Carolina University, where he led the daily care of Division I football student-athletes and coordinated services with a multidisciplinary health care team. He also acted as interim director of sports medicine during that time and managed COVID-19 testing protocols across multiple sports. In addition, Reyburn was an adjunct professor in the athletic training program, teaching Introduction to Athletic Training and developing curriculum for undergraduate students.
Prior to Western Carolina, Reyburn was the lead athletic trainer at Savannah State University within the St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital System from 2019 to 2020, overseeing health care services for Division I FCS and Division II programs. His earlier experience includes outreach athletic training with Optim Orthopedics, graduate assistant athletic training at Vereen Rehabilitation Center and clinical work with Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Reyburn earned a Doctorate in Athletic Training from Indiana State University in 2020, a Master of Science from the University of North Georgia in 2016, and a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in 2014. He is a board-certified athletic trainer, licensed in North Carolina, holds multiple professional certifications including dry needling and corrective exercise specialization, and is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
