Kennesaw State football head coach Brian Bohannon announced the addition of Doug Saylor as the team’s Director of Player Personnel on June 1, 2023. Saylor arrives at KSU with over 15 years of experience in collegiate football, which includes time at the University of Georgia and Colorado State. Saylor will be responsible for all aspects of football recruiting activities.

“Coach Saylor’s experience will help our football program in many ways,” said Bohannon. “He has spent time with athletes at all levels of football and understands what it takes to be successful.”

Saylor served at the University of Georgia from 2007-2014 in a variety of different roles, including as the offensive graduate assistant and interim quarterbacks coach. With the Bulldogs, the Sharpsburg, Ga. native worked with two notable quarterbacks in Mathew Stafford, the 1st overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, and Aaron Murray, the SEC’s all-time leading passer.

As the offensive graduate assistant, Saylor coached many skill positions. He worked with four first-round picks including wide receiver AJ Green and running backs Todd Gurley, Knowshon Moreno and Sony Michel.
Saylor was also a part of eight bowl games while in Athens.

After leaving the University of Georgia, Saylor spent the 2016 season as the offensive graduate assistant at Colorado State. With the Rams, he coached and developed Michael Gallup, the 2017 Biletnikoff Award Finalist and All-American.

From 2017-2019, Saylor was the offensive coordinator at Northeast Mississippi Community College. In his final season, he coordinated an offense that finished top 20 in the country in passing yards per game.

After a successful stint at the junior college level, Saylor was named the quarterbacks coach at Presbyterian College where he coached the 2021 spring season. The Blue Hose finished second in the Pioneer League in scoring, passing yards per game and passing touchdowns. He also mentored quarterback Tyler Huff to a Pioneer League All-Conference selection.

In the fall of 2021, Saylor was the wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator at Limestone University.

Upon the completion of the season, he moved to Atlanta and entered his current role as the quarterback director for Jenkins Elite, a world-class football training and development organization.

Saylor graduated from the University of Georgia in December of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management.
