William Paruta is in his first season as the linebackers coach at Kennesaw State.
Paruta arrives in Kennesaw after serving as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Mississippi College in 2024.
Prior to Clinton, Paruta worked with Liberty as the senior defensive analyst, where the Flames led the nation in interceptions en route to an undefeated regular season and Conference USA Championship.
Paruta also served as the senior defensive analyst at Coastal Carolina from 2021-22, helping the Chanticleers to an 11-2 record and Cure Bowl victory during his tenure.
While in the Sun Belt Conference, Paruta also worked at Troy as the senior defensive analyst from 2019-20, working primarily with the defensive line and safeties.
A native of Fairfield, N.J., Paruta’s coaching career started in 2017 under defensive coordinator Brent Venables at Clemson, who he was the defensive graduate assistant. Following his time with the Tigers, he continued his graduate assistantship with Jacksonville State, helping the team to an OVC Conference Championship in 2018.
His work with collegiate football overall also began at Clemson, where he served as a student assistant strength coach from 2013-16.
During his five seasons at Clemson, the Tigers marched to three-straight ACC Championships (2015-17), three-straight college football playoff appearances and a National Championship in 2016.
He resides in Kennesaw with his wife, Chandler Paruta.
