Former Kennesaw State standout Jake McKenzie is entering his second year as an offensive graduate assistant in 2020.
McKenzie was instrumental in building the culture at Kennesaw State during the first four years of the program as he helped lead the Owls to back-to-back Big South Conference championships and consecutive appearances in the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs.
During his four-year career with the Owls, McKenzie saw action at quarterback and running back, combining to rush for 2,005 yards and nine touchdowns, while throwing for 464 yards and two scores. He caught 19 passes for 266 yards and added three receiving touchdowns.
The Monroeville, Alabama native was named second team All-Big South Conference as a junior and landed on the Big South Honor Roll. He was named the Big South Offensive Player of the Week during the 2017 season after rushing for 111 yards, including a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter to help the Owls knock off Liberty on the road. He had three 100-yard games as a junior where he rushed for a career-high 731 yards on the year.
McKenzie is a 2019 graduate of Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s degree in integrative studies and is currently working toward his master’s in public administration.
