A three-sport (basketball, football, track and field) athlete at Beckley County High School in Cochran, Ga. … a two-time all-region selection under head coach Von Lassiter … had a pair of 1,000-yard rushing campaigns and two seasons with at least 20 touchdowns … averaged 22.3 points a game as a member of the Royals' basketball team … advanced to the Georgia state track championships four times, competing in the 100 and 200 meter sprints.
