KENNESAW, Ga. — After spending his first three collegiate seasons at Northern Colorado, Brayden Munroe decided to make a change in 2026. For the first time in his life, home was not going to be Colorado. Home was Kennesaw State University.

Born in Parker, Colorado, Munroe played baseball, basketball and football since elementary school. By his senior year at Chaparral High School, he was a first-team all-conference selection in all three of those sports.

While in high school, Munroe didn’t even think he’d be playing college football.

“I come from a baseball family,” he said. “My little brother plays in college, and my grandparents both played in college. Throughout high school, I thought I was going to be a college baseball player and then I just fell in love with football.”

After graduation, he went to Northern Colorado, following in the footsteps of both his parents. The school was only an hour away from home. 

After his freshman year at Northern Colorado, he had a decision to make. 

“I actually played baseball there my freshman year too,” he revealed. “Football, I would say, went a little bit better my freshman year. My plan was to see which one went better, which one I liked more, and that was the one I was going to stick with. I miss baseball a little bit, but it’s been great. I love football.” 

In his three seasons with the Bears, Munroe amassed 1,328 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 93 receptions. 

During this past offseason, however, he was seeking a change of scenery. 

“I lived in Colorado my whole life,” Munroe said. “I was kind of ready to get out a little bit and try something new and it’s been great. The game environments have been a lot of fun and I love all the people down here, my coaches and my teammates. I’m really happy with the decision.”

Against Georgia State, Munroe finished with three receptions for 54 yards, highlighted by a 44-yard catch that set up a field goal on the Owls’ opening drive of the game. 

On the opening drive of the second half, Munroe recorded two more catches for 10 yards which saw him eclipse 1,400 career receiving yards. 

“While there’s still goals I want to accomplish, it’s definitely something to be proud of,” he said. “I’ve had coaches and teammates trust me to be able to do that. I wouldn’t be able to have any of that without them, so I just feel blessed and lucky to be surrounded by such great people.” 

A business management major, Munroe’s general plan is to work in real estate or insurance after receiving his degree.

However, his love for football has grown so strong he doesn’t know if he could stay away from the game. 

“It’s tough because I love football so much,” Munroe said. “I really am considering, maybe, being a coach one day, or working on the business side of sports. There’s a lot of ideas going through my head right now. I can also take my major in a few different directions, so we’ll see.” 

In the summer when football is not busy, he dedicates time working on his golf swing.

“That is probably my favorite hobby outside of football,” he said. “I’ve been doing that a lot the past couple of summers, and I’ve been trying to get better – but it’s really hard.”

Whether it’s harder than finding a new home is up to one’s judgment, but one thing is for sure. 

Munroe has found one at Kennesaw State University.
