WILMINGTON, N.C. – Kennesaw State volleyball completed a perfect opening weekend Saturday afternoon, rolling past Le Moyne 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-13) to claim the Seahawk Classic championship at Hanover Hall.
The Owls finished the weekend 3-0 after wins over The Citadel, host UNCW and Le Moyne, giving KSU its first 3-0 start to a season since 2018.
KSU dominated offensively, hitting .429 for the match and limiting Le Moyne to a -.031 hitting percentage. Freshman Anna Ofenheusle led a balanced attack with nine kills, with Olivia Burrage adding eight kills on nine attacks without an error for an .889 hitting percentage. Haley Patterson and Ashlyn Anderson chipped in seven kills each.
The Owls took control early, using an 11-1 run to turn a 6-5 advantage into a 17-6 lead on the way to a 25-11 opening-set victory. Le Moyne battled KSU to an 18-18 tie in the second before the Owls scored seven of the final eight points for a 25-19 win. Kennesaw State closed out the sweep with a 25-13 victory in the third.
Patterson was named the Seahawk Classic Most Valuable Player following the tournament, and Burrage joined her on the Seahawk Classic All-Tournament Team.

- Kennesaw State is 3-0 to begin the season for the first time since 2018.
- All 16 players on the KSU roster appeared in Saturday's victory.

- Kaeley Walz posted a team-high 22 assists and two service aces.

NEXT TIME OUT
Kennesaw State returns to action Thursday, Sept. 3, when the Owls travel to Atlanta to take on in-state rival Georgia State. The contest will be the first meeting between the Owls and Panthers since 2017.
