KENNESAW, Ga. – For the second time in the past five years, the Kennesaw State volleyball squad will open the season in North Carolina as they are making the trip up to Wilmington, N.C., to play in the Hampton Inn+Suites Seahawk Classic. Friday's first day of matches will see just the second-ever meeting between the Owls against both The Citadel (last played in 2024) and UNC Wilmington (2007). Saturday's game against Le Moyne will be the first-ever between the two squads.
- Kennesaw State begins the season looking to replace the majority of its offensive from a season ago, but a strong core of returning players along with an impressive freshmen class that is expected to make an early impact has the Owls excited about the potential for the 2026 season.
- The rest of Conference USA feels the same, as KSU was picked in a tie for third place in the preseason league rankings, along with New Mexico State. That's following a top three finish and a trip to the CUSA semifinals a season ago.
- The last time KSU played in the Tar Heel state was the opening weekend of the 2022 season, when the Owls went 2-1 at Wake Forest with wins over Western Carolina and NC Central.
