KENNESAW, Ga. – 14 members of the Kennesaw State track and field programs will compete at the Spec Towns Invitational in Athens, Ga.
The Owls will make the first of two trips to Athens this season this weekend. KSU returns to Athens on May 1-2 for the Torrin Lawrance Memorial meet.
Kali Terza will be competing at the Oklahoma Throw Series Bronze World Invitational in Romona, Oklahoma.
Weather Report
The weather in Athens calls for highs of 68 (Thursday), 75 (Friday) and 82 (Saturday) will lows in the upper 40s to mid-50s.
Heptathlon Season Opener
A pair of Owls will make their season debuts in the heptathlon on Thursday and Friday. Junior
Amelia Coker will compete in her fourth career heptathlon. Her personal-best total of 4745 points came at the 2025 CUSA Outdoor Championships. Gaither is making her collegiate heptathlon debut.
Fantastic Freshman
After a successful indoor season, KSU's freshmen class has put together some very impressive marks to open the outdoor season.
On the men's side
Gage Voyles (high jump) and
Cameron Dean (triple time) have conference leading marks in their events. Dean's mark of 15.53m (50'11.5") ranks fourth in the NCAA East Region and T20th in the NCAA this season. Voyles mark of 2.18m No. 1 in NCAA East Region and ranks tied for third in the NCAA this season.
On the women's side,
Natalie Harris (100m hurdles),
Samantha McGarity (5K and 10K) and
Ebony Whyte (100m) all have top three marks in CUSA this season. Freshman
Tickia Sutton who won the gold medal in the 60m hurdles indoors is scheduled to make her outdoor debut this season.
Loaded Hammer Throw Field Awaits Terza in Oklahoma
Kali Terza was named Conference USA Women's Field Athlete of the Week after winning the hammer throw at the Florida Relays. She landed a personal-best toss of 69.05m (226'6") beating throwers from Illinois, Auburn, Florida and Liberty among others in the event. That mark established a new school record. It ranks first in CUSA by almost 27 feet. It also ranks No. 1 in NCAA East Region and No. 3 in the NCAA this season.
This weekend, Terza heads to Oklahoma to compete in the Oklahoma Throws Series Bronze World Invite on Friday. The field consists of 12 throwers including several professionals. Camryn Rogers is in the field in Oklahoma. Last weekend, she set the United States hammer throw record with a toss of 81.13m (166'2") at Texas Relays. The only other collegiate thrower set to throw in Romona is Maria Pestana of Virginia Tech.

Record Breakers
KSU broke three school records at the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta. Kali Teza (hammer throw),
Emma Sullivan (400m) and Joshua Jones (400m hurdles) all established new program records.
Freshman
Gage Voyles set the school record in the men's high jump at the Don McGarey Invitational with a clearance of 2.18m (7'1.75").
Terza set a new school record in the hammer throw at Florida Relays last weekend.
CUSA's Leaders
The 2026 CUSA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium, May 14-16 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The KSU men have the top mark in five events, and the women have it in four events.
