KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State softball dropped its series finale against Middle Tennessee, falling 15-4 at Bailey Park.
Macie Howes turned in another great performance, going 2-for-3 with a three-run shot in the fourth.
Ana Gore tallied another hit to end the weekend 6-for-12 with four RBI.
How It Happened
MTSU tripled in the top of the first to take the early 1-0 lead. KSU tied it up in the second.
Savannah Frachiseur led off the inning with a hit-by-pitch and moved to third on a steal and wild pitch. In the next at-bat,
Danielle Bailey walked and got aggressive on the base path. She stole second and the catcher's throw sailed over the infielder, allowing Frachiseur to score.
The 1-1 score was short-lived as the Blue Raiders retook the lead. A single and a bases-loaded double made it 4-1. Two more runs in the fourth made it a five-run game.
Ava Brooke Strickland and
Hannah Harvey reached base in the bottom half of the fourth to set up Howes. The senior catcher blasted a ball into deep left-center field to cut the deficit to two.
The Blue Raiders added nine runs in the fifth to make 15-4, enforcing the run rule.
