NEWARK, Del. - Kennesaw State baseball slugged six home runs to power past Delaware, 13-11, in a Sunday afternoon slugfest at Bob Hannah Stadium. The six longballs were the most in a game by the Owls (14-10, 5-4 CUSA) since the program moved to Division I in 2006.
Cooper Williams set the tone for the Owls' offense, lifting a two-run home run to right-center field on the third pitch of the game, before Jackson Chirello laced a two-run shot of his own later in the opening frame. Both men then homered in their next plate appearances before Chris Cole and James McGee lifted late homers to pad the lead.
Williams led the KSU offense that totaled 14 hits on the afternoon, going 4-for-6 with two homers, four RBIs and three runs scored. Jackson Chirello, Chris Cole, James McGee and Trenton Lyons added two hits each, with Chirello driving in four runs and McGee plating three on his late homer. Sunday marked the fifth-straight game in which the Owls recorded at least 10 base hits, a feat that the team has not accomplished since Feb. 18-26, 2023.
