KENNESAW, Ga. – Four event wins highlighted the opening day of the Don McGarey Invitational Friday at the KSU Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
Men's Recap
KSU defended the Nest in the javelin taking home the top four places.
Aidan Boyd won with a Personal-best mark of 65.68m (215'6"). He was followed by a trio of freshman.
Alex Teal (58'85 |193'1),
Kaelan Garrity (58.29 | 191'3") and
Landon Isbell (58.22m | 191'0") took home second, third and fourth place.
Pishon Haughton picked up his first individual event win with a time of 20.96 seconds.
Eric Young II posted a time of 21.65 seconds to secure fifth.
Jace Hunter landed a career-best toss of 63.38m (207'11") to finish third in the hammer throw.
Evan Martinez (60.60m | 198'10") and
Harrison Pawsat (54.79m |179'9") grabbed fifth and seventh respectively.
Rickey Robbins finished second in the discus with a mark of 52.63m (172'8").
Freshmen
Cameron Dean (7.12m | 23'4.25") and
Jeremiah Madison (7.01m (23'0") took home second and third in the long jump.
Marion Clark (52.54 seconds) and
Darris Roberts (53.73 seconds) finished second and third in the 400m hurdles.
Women's Recap
Kali Terza won the hammer throw with a toss of 67.70m (222'1").
Senior
Myesha Hall won the long jump with a leap of 6.18m (20-3.25). Kaylan McConehead (5.97m | 19'7"),
Jermiya Winston (5.93m |19'3.50") and
Natalie Harris (5.91m | 19'4.75") placed second, fourth and fifth.
Samiya Wayne ran 23.75 seconds to finish second in the 200m.
Amelia Coker (1:02.23) and
Alina Harris (1:03.18) placed third and fourth in the 400m hurdles.
The Owls will conclude competition at the Don McGarey Invitational on Saturday, March 28. 14 seniors will be honored at 11:45 a.m.
