WASHINGTON — No. 75 Kennesaw State men's tennis handled business in a 4-0 win over Howard on Friday afternoon at Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
Singles were played first in Friday's match, and the Owls left no need for doubles as
Xavi Ferrer,
Erik Vladimirov,
Kyvan Rietkerk and
Nathan Walters quickly clinched the match with straight-set wins.
Ferrer earned KSU's first point with a 6-1, 6-1 win over the Bison's Kendrick Lash on court four. With his 10
th match win of the season on Friday, Ferrer now has six consecutive singles wins.
Vladimirov moved to 3-0 on the season with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Nathan Bermeo on five. Rietkerk saw his first singles action of the season and made the most of it in a 6-2, 6-3 defeat of Alexander Monagan on court six.
Walters finished off Howard with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Shawn Mitchell Yon on three. The reigning Conference USA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week is now 13-2 on the season in singles play with a team-leading seven-match winning streak.
