ATLANTA, Ga. – Kennesaw State track and field collected four event wins and a school record on day one of the Yellow Jacket Invitational Friday at George C. Griffin Track Facility.
Women's Recap
Kali Terza kicked off her final outdoor season with a toss of 68.62m (225'1") to win the hammer throw. That mark set a school record. She won by 32 feet and one inch.
Myesha Hall landed a leap of 5.76m (18'10.75") to win the long jump.
Natalie Harris ran a time of 13.57 seconds to finish second in the 100m hurdles. Harris, along with
Madison Maxey,
Hannah Cheek and
Jasmine Gaither all had personal-best performances in the 110m hurdles.
Madison Seiler (4:28.02) and Riley Perlakoski (4:28.98) took home sixth and ninth in their 1500m season debuts.
Sophomore
Samantha McGarity made her KSU outdoor debut placing fifth in the 5K in a time of 17:11.44.
Men's Recap
Simon Seid and
Gavin Horton cleared the bar at 5.05m (16'6.65") to finish 1-2 in the pole vault. Seid won by clearing the bar on less attempts. This was Seid's consecutive win in the event.
Six of the 13 competitors in the men's hammer throw were current or former Owls. Daniel Haugh, Isaiah Rogers and
Noah Jirgens took home first, second and fourth place.
Jase Hunter opened his senior season with a mark of 63.12m (207'1") placing fifth.
Aidan Boyd landed a toss of 63.25m (207'6) to win the javelin. Freshman
Alex Teal was runner-up with a toss of 58.80m (192'11") in his collegiate debut.
Trey Geter (10.72 seconds) and Ca'Von Lucas (10.73 seconds) placed ninth and 10
th in their 100m season debuts.
The Owls will finish competition at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 21.
