WILMINGTON, N.C. — Kennesaw State men's tennis won its fourth straight match on the opening day at the Battle at the Beach in a 4-1 defeat of Lehigh on Tuesday morning at UNCW Courts.
KSU bounced back from a doubles loss to roll through singles with four straight-set victories. The Owls now have 35 singles wins on the season, good for a .636 winning percentage.
Xavi Ferrer sparked the Owls with a court-six defeat of Lehigh's Henry Stroller (6-1, 6-2).
Anthony Weingarten then recorded his third straight singles win as he overcame Benedict Horn-Bourqu 6-3, 6-1 on three.
Ben Hudson took down Sean Jaeger in a 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) decision on court one.
Nathan Walters sealed the win for the Owls with a defeat of the Mountain Hawks' Aleksandar Daskalovi, 7-5, 6-4, on court five. Walters leads KSU with a team-best 8-2 singles record this season.
