KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State baseball fell to No. 20 West Virginia, 9-1, Saturday afternoon at Mickey Dunn Stadium at Henssler Financial Field.
West Virginia (8-1) scored single runs in the first and fourth innings and added two more in the second to build an early advantage. The Mountaineers extended their lead with a three-run eighth inning and plated two additional runs in the ninth.
The Owls (4-5) were held to four hits in the contest. Pinch-hitter Cooper Williams accounted for Kennesaw State's lone run with a solo home run to right field in the eighth inning. Trenton Lyons added a single and stole a base, while James McGee and Jackson Bradfield also recorded hits.
Nolan Sliver provided 3.1 innings of relief, allowing one run while striking out five. Nate Helman followed, working 2.2 innings and striking out three.
