TROY, Ala. – Kennesaw State softball concluded the Trojan Invitational, falling to Omaha, 11-3, on Sunday.

Macie Howes homered for the second-straight game and Addison Smith recorded her first career RBI.

The Owls went 1-3 on the weekend, defeating Furman on Saturday in a historic performance.

How It Happened
The Mavericks homered to open up the first inning. With the bases loaded, Ava Guzowski made a great play to keep the ball in the infield and record the final out of the inning.

Howes responded back with a solo shot of her own into left-center field.

In second inning, both teams scored again with the Mavericks adding five runs. Smith and Ava Brooke Strickland recorded back-to-back RBI singles to cut the deficit to four.

Four runs across the next two innings gave the Mavericks an 11-3 lead which held for the final result.

Notes from the Diamond
  • Macie Howes has homered in back-to-back games. For the weekend, she went 5-for-12 with four extra-base hits and five RBI.
  • Addison Smith recorded her first collegiate RBI. She also had her first multi-hit game, going a perfect 2-for-2.
  • Rylee Limberger made her first start as a hitter, slotting in as the Designated Player.
