POSTGAME QUOTES – HEAD COACH ANTOINE PETTWAY
"Our defense and our rebounding failed us tonight. We outrebounded them by one, but we gave up some costly rebounds, and my message to the team was until we guard better, we are going to be in these types of games and we won't end up on the right side of the stick. All of these games are going to be one to two possession games, and so we've got to do a better job of defending and staying in front of the ball."
NOTES
- Taylor set a new career-high with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, tying for the team lead along with Johnson who also added six assists.
- Lue posted consecutive 20+ point performances for the first time in his career with 20. He also grabbed eight rebounds.
- Simpson was the fourth player in double-figures with 11.
NEXT TIME OUT: The Owls will be on the road for its first-ever trip to Springfield, Mo., as they will face Missouri State on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 8 pm (ET). The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
