Top Storylines:

•  Kennesaw State football closes out the month of October -- and midweek CUSA -- on a short week, traveling to Middle Tennessee for just the second time in program history on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium.

• The Owls and Blue Raiders have only met twice previously, splitting the matchups between the two. MTSU won a hard-fought 14-5 matchup in 2024 before KSU got its revenge, winning 24-16 last season.

•  The Owls have lost three of its last four games by the slimmest of margins, just 3 points or less.  No other team in FBS has more narrow defeats than KSU with only Louisville (3) and 11 other teams (2) even having multiple games by that deficit. In one-score setbacks, KSU ranks tied for fifth nationally and tied in CUSA with FIU and Sam Houston.

• Through seven games and three league matchups, KSU’s offense ranks top-3 in CUSA in five offensive categories (red zone offense - 1st; tackles for loss allowed - 1st; completion percentage - 2nd; turnovers lost - 3rd; first downs - 3rd).

•  On defense, the Owls rank top 5 in CUSA in five statistical categories (fumbles recovered - 2nd; fourth down defense - 2nd; scoring defense - 4th; turnovers gained - 5th; rushing defense - 5th).

• Gr. LB Baron Hopson turned in his 11th double-digit tackling game since 2025 -- good for second nationally -- making 12 stops last Thursday against Liberty.

•  Hopson ranks 15th among all active FBS/FCS players with 293 career tackles, while also ranking third among active FBS players, averaging 8.63 tackles per game.

•  r-So. LB Tywon Christopher has been a wrecking ball the last three games, amassing a combined 33 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

•  The defense has forced the fifth most turnovers in Conference USA and rank 14th among Group of Six and 31st nationally with 1.3 forced fumbles per game in 2026 (nine total).

•  Sr. WR Brayden Munroe (50.3) and Jr. WR Javon Rogers (50.0) have been two bright spots offensively for Kennesaw State, both ranking in the top 10 for Conference USA in receiving yards per game.

•  In the last two seasons, only three schools have produced more 100-yard rushers than Kennesaw State (Army, Rice, Virginia). Since 2015, KSU ranks 10th nationally with 20 players with 100-yard rushing performances.
