KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball will play its first home game in a month as the Owls welcome new league member Missouri State to VyStar Arena on Wednesday night. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. in VyStar Arena and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ The road was not kind to the Owls, as they dropped their last four games, three on the road in conference play (Middle Tennessee, Liberty, Delaware), along with a neutral contest in Alabama against the 16th-ranked Crimson Tide. Missouri State meanwhile bring a five-game win streak into the contest, but four were at home as the Bears are 8-2 at home, 1-3 on the road this season.
♦ The Owls are scoring at high rate, currently 22nd in the nation at 88.9 points per game, which easily leads Conference USA.
♦ Senior guard Simeon Cottle meanwhile paces the league in scoring at 19.3 points per game, 45th in the nation.
♦ KSU has always been a fast-paced team under Pettway, and that's not changing in his third year at the helm of the Owls. KSU ranked in the top five in the nation in adjusted tempo in his first year, and currently is 10th at 74.0 (possessions per 40 minutes).
♦ It's also been a strong year defensively for the Owls as well, currently 23rd in the nation in field goal defense at 38.8%. The school record for best field goal defense in a season was set a year ago, as the 2024-25 squad limited teams to 41.4% from the floor.
♦ KSU is having another strong year in the boards as well, ranking second in the nation in total rebounds per game (46.6 rpg) and 11th in rebound margin (+11.2) in the nation.
