LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshmen Ca'Von Lucas and Marion Clark each earned their first collegiate victories as the Kennesaw State track and field teams competed Friday at the Lenny Lyles Invitational.
Clark captured the C Division of the 400 meters with a winning time of 48.24 seconds, while Lucas claimed the C Division of the 200 meters in 21.49 seconds.
Men's recap
Chance Cross placed fourth in the A Division of the 200 meters, running 21.22 seconds to post the fourth-fastest time in program history.
Simon Seid cleared 5.12 meters (16'9.5") to finish fifth in the pole vault.
Trey Geter recorded a sixth-place finish in the B Division of the 200 meters with a time of 21.76 seconds.
Noah Jirgens threw a personal-best 19.85 meters (65'1.5") to place fifth in the hammer throw.
Women's recap
Kali Terza finished second in the weight throw with a mark of 20.12 meters (66'0.25").
Britney Chatfield placed second in the B Division of the 400 meters, clocking 55.45 seconds, while Samiyah Wayne posted a personal-best 55.95 seconds to finish sixth.
Eliana Mbadinga recorded a season-best time of 24.36 seconds to place third in the B Division of the 200 meters.
Women's Track Competes at John Thomas Terrier Classic
BOSTON – Seven members of the Kennesaw State women's track and field team competed Friday at the John Thomas Terrier Classic.
Madison Seiler finished 11th in the open 5,000 meters with a time of 16:28.74, ranking second in program history.
Emma Sullivan continued her strong senior indoor season, placing 14th in the invitational 800 meters in 2:04.44.
In the open mile, Emma Ferguson (4:47.83), Riley Perlakowski (4:48.18) and Akshana (4:51.09) finished 24th, 25th and 33rd, respectively.
