KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women's lacrosse has finalized its coaching staff as Morgan Gott is joining the Black and Gold as an assistant coach, Owls' head coach
Laura Maness announced on Friday. Gott comes to KSU after spending the 2024-25 season as the head coach for Saint Francis (PA).
"Morgan is an exceptional coach that is also bringing head coaching experience to our staff," said Maness. "In addition to being a great coach, her familiarity with our conference as well as having played at Coastal Carolina will be an added benefit to help prepare our team for success in the Atlantic Sun."
"I'm thrilled to be joining the women's lacrosse staff at KSU," said Gott. "I want to thank
Laura Maness for the opportunity to be a part of a program that competes among some of the best teams in the south. My goal is to help the team earn a spot in the conference tournament and show everyone what Kennesaw State has to offer."
Gott took over as the head coach at Saint Francis in August of 2024, and led the Flashes to a 7-10 record, and a 5-4 mark in the Northeast Conference. That was more than double the amount of wins of any first-year head coach in school history, and she guided them to the semifinals of the NEC Tournament, becoming the only coach to lead the team to the playoffs in her first year. During her year at the head of the program, she had a school record four players earned First-Team All-NEC, while she also coached the NEC Rookie of the Year for 2025.
Gott first arrived in Loretto as an assistant coach in September of 2022 and stayed in that role for two years before being elevated to the top spot. During her time as an assistant, Saint Francis achieved their first winning season ever in program history.
Prior to Saint Francis, Gott was an assistant coach at Eastern Michigan (2021-22), George Mason (2018-20), Mary Washington (2017-18) and Roanoke College (2016-17). She also held head coaching positions for several club programs including Denver Summitt (2021), Yellow Jackets Mid-Atlantic (2021), CRASH Lacrosse (2018-19), and Mid-Western Force (2016-17).
A four-year letterwinner at Coastal Carolina (2013-16), she appeared in 61 total games as she was part of the inaugural team for the Chanticleers. Gott helped Coastal post a pair of 11-win seasons and reach the Big South Tournament in each of her final two seasons in Conway. Gott received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in management in August of 2016.
