KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State football wide receivers coach
David Whitlow was among 247Sports' "30 Under 30" list of the top young and rising coaches in Division I FBS this season.
With nearly 100 on-field FBS coaches under the age of 30 this season, Whitlow, 28, rises to the top of the talent pool in just his second on-field coaching position of his career.
Whitlow arrived at Kennesaw State after one season as the wideouts coach at West Georgia and multiple years as a graduate assistant in the SEC.
While at West Georgia, the Wolves improved in every single offensive category during the season, including a top-20 passing offense and was one of just a handful of teams to sport three receivers with 500 or more receiving yards.
Prior to West Georgia, Whitlow studied under Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss and Bryan Harsin and Cadillac Williams at Auburn as an offensive graduate assistant. While at Auburn, the Montgomery, Ala. native was also mentored by Ike Hilliard – the current wide receivers coach with the Atlanta Falcons.
While at Ole Miss in 2023, the Rebels had a top-20 passing offense that ranked No. 3 in the SEC (285.6 yards per game). En route to a 11-2 season, Whitlow helped tutor Tre Harris (985), Dayton Wade (830) and Jordan Watkins (741) to 700-yard receiving seasons.
Prior to his time in Oxford, Whitlow serpent two years at Auburn (2020-22), serving the Tigers' in the same position, following time interning in the strength and conditioning program and a graduate assistantship in Olympic sport recruiting and student-athlete development.
On the field, Whitlow played at Alabama State from 2015-19, originally arriving as a quarterback for the Hornets before ending his career as a defensive back.
