KENNESAW, Ga. – 2024 All-CUSA selection and 2025 preseason All-CUSA honoree DB
JeRico Washington Jr. was named to the 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, the Wuerffel Trophy Foundation announced Thursday.
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy recognize college football student-athletes from across FBS who exemplify community service, academic excellence and athletic achievement. Washington was also named a nominee for the 2025 Allstate Good Works Team for his community-focused efforts.
On the field, Washington earned second-team all-CUSA honors as a redshirt freshman last season in KSU's first season as a member of Conference USA. Starting all 12 games, Washington recorded 59 tackles, including 43 solo stops. He also hauled in two interceptions, forced three fumbles and recovered one in his breakout season.
Off the field, the Atlanta native spends his time volunteering with a community kickball event at Kennesaw State that serves youth in the area. Washington also visited multiple elementary schools as part of Read Across America, reading stories to classrooms, answering questions and relaying the importance of reading and literacy.
Washington has also spent time in the community mentoring a kindergartner at Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School, as well as working with a local little league football team and the summer lake camp that his high school (Westlake) sponsors.
