LYNCHBURG, Va. - No. 3 Kennesaw State's run in the 2025 Conference USA Tournament came to a close Saturday morning against No. 2 Western Kentucky, 10-2 at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
Aaron Posey provided the Owls' (31-27, 17-9 CUSA) lone long ball against the HilltoppersĀ (45-12, 18-9 CUSA) and Kennesaw State got out to a 2-1 lead in the fourth before WKU stormed back to take the win.
How It Happened
The Hilltoppers posted the game's first run, leading 1-0 after the opening inning. Starter
Ryan Gold sat down two via punchout in the frame.
On the first pitch of the third inning, Posey blasted an opposite-field homer to right, evening the game at one. In the next frame,
Donovan Cash led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice from
Cooper Williams. With Cash on second,
Wesley Alig took the first pitch he saw into center to score Cash and put KSU ahead, 2-1. WKU retook the lead in the bottom of the fourth, 3-2. They led 10-2 after eight and held on for the victory.

- Posey's homer was the third of his career and second this season.
- Cole's first-inning walk increased his 2025 total to 44, the second-most in a KSU Division I single season.
- Cash's reached-base streak improved to 14 games.
- Cam Suto's hit streak improved to seven games.
