KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State's
Shannon Harrington and
Alyssa Angelo were named to the Atlantic Sun Women's Lacrosse All-Conference teams, the league office announced on Tuesday. Harrington was a first-team selection while Angelo was named to the second team. KSU also saw
Lexi Tinker,
Marleigh Belinfanti and
Mia Nardi named to the ASUN All-Freshman team, while a conference-high three players (Harrington,
Devon Webb,
Kendal Elison) were selected to the All-Academic ASUN squad.
Harrington, a midfielder from Port Jefferson Station, N.Y., ranked in the top 50 in the nation in both total goals (51 – 45th) and goals per game (3.19 – 31st). Her 51 goals this season are the fifth highest total in KSU history, only trailing former Owl All-American Siena Gore. She also ranked third in the conference in total goals and fourth in goals per game. Harrington added seven assists as well for a team-high tying 58 points.
Angelo, a graduate student attacker and native of Peachtree City, Ga., set a new KSU single season record this year with 30 total assists. That mark also ranked her 45
th in the nation, while her 1.88 assists per game was the 47
th-highest. Angelo was a scoring threat as well for the Owls, recording 28 goals (third-best on the team) to give her 58 points, tying her for the lead with Harrington. She also posted 66 total draw controls, tops on the team and the ninth-highest total in KSU history for a season.
Tinker, an attacker from Buford, Ga., was one of the top scoring freshmen in the conference. Her 30 goals ranked her both second on the team and were the second-highest of any freshmen in the conference, while her 17 goals in conference play were the fourth most of any player.
Belinfanti, another attacker from the Peach State (Powder Springs, Ga.), joined with Tinker as a dangerous scoring threat up front. She finished her first season as an Owl with 25 goals while she ranked second on the team in total assists with 10. That gave her 35 total points, fourth-best on the team.
Nardi, a goalkeeper from Parsippany, N.J., came on strong in the second half of the season, including a two-game stretch in which she recorded 14 and 13 saves in a road win at Stetson and a tight two-goal loss to regular season champion Jacksonville. She finished the season with 68 saves and a .422 save percentage.
Both
Devon Webb, a senior midfielder and
Kendal Elison, a junior defender, hold cum 4.0 GPAs and appeared in 16 and 15 games, respectively, for the Owls. Webb has already graduated and will receive her certificate in leadership in sports and exercise science, while Ellison is a computer science major. Harrington holds a 3.82 GPA while majoring in elementary education. This is the first academic honor for all three players.
