KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State football wrapped up its 2026 non-conference schedule when it announced Thursday it will open the season at Fifth Third Stadium against West Georgia on Sept. 5, 2026.
West Georgia will mark the first of two-straight in-state opponents for the Owls in 2026, also playing host to crosstown foe Georgia State on Sept. 12.
West Georgia announced in 2023 that it would transition to NCAA Division I athletics and completed the transition on July 1, 2024, joining the United Athletics Conference in football – an alliance between the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) and Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The Wolves finished their inaugural FCS season 4-7 in 2024.
With Kennesaw State's 2026 non-conference schedule now complete, Owl Nation will see KSU take on West Georgia and Georgia State at Fifth Third Stadium, before traveling to take on Tennessee in Knoxville on Sept. 19 and Arkansas State in Jonesboro on Sept. 26.
