KENNESAW, Ga. - In a season filled with electric energy and unforgettable moments, Kennesaw State men's and women's basketball made an impactful entrance to Conference USA. Not only did each team set records on the court and win a game in the CUSA tournament, but Owl Nation also set record-breaking attendance figures that proved something special is building in the Nest.
For the men's basketball team, the numbers spoke volumes. Averaging 2,042 fans per game, the Owls shattered the all-time attendance record, transforming the Convocation Center into one of the most spirited home-court environments in CUSA. The atmosphere brought over 23,000 fans through the door that was fueled by a 26% rise in season ticket sales and an energized group outreach program. Youth leagues, school groups, community organizations, and more from the Cobb community saw the Owls post an exciting 12-3 home record.
Dating back to the start of the 2022-23 season, KSU has seen a 126% increase in season ticket sales and a 102% increase in group attendance.
In addition to having its games streamed on ESPN+, KSU played on national television four times this season, including twice at home. A national audience on CBS Sports Network saw the Owls earn their first victory over a ranked opponent when KSU knocked off #24 Rutgers in front of a capacity crowd on Nov. 24.
On the women's side, history was made as well. With an all-time high of 1,361 group tickets sold and a stunning 70% increase in student attendance, the atmosphere at women's games helped the Owls win eight home games. From buzzer-beaters to SportsCenter breakout performances, fans from the KSU community continued to show an increased interest in the program.
Since 2022, KSU women's basketball has seen an outstanding 217% increase in group attendance, furthering KSU's efforts to increase its brand in the community.
Together, the rise in attendance showed growing pride, passion, and interest in Kennesaw State basketball. With the Convocation Center louder, fuller, and more alive than ever, the 2024-25 season set the foundation for a future filled with even greater moments.
