KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State's
Frankquon Sherman and
Delaney Heard were both named to the CSC Academic All-District team for Men's Basketball, it was announced by the national organization this week.
Student-athletes must be in at least their second season, hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and be a starter or important reserve to be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District teams.
Heard, a senior from Canton, Georgia, moved into the starting lineup in the final weeks of the season and helped the Owls to a top-four finish in Conference USA as well as an appearance in the CUSA semifinals. He played in 32 games with five total starts, and finished with 57 points, 30 rebounds and 18 steals. Heard, who holds a cum GPA of 4.0, received his degree in biology in December, and is currently working on his pre-med concentration.
Sherman, a sophomore from Lincolnton, Ga., also appeared in 32 games, and was one of the top players off the bench for the Owls, averaging 5.5 points per game while grabbing 4.8 rpg. He also shot 45.3% from the floor. A business administration major with a focus on entrepreneurship, he currently holds a 3.64 cum GPA.
This is the second time in three years the Owls have had two players earn academic all-district honors, as
Cole LaRue and Alex Peterson were honored during the 2022-23 season.
