KENNESAW, Ga. – A walk-off grand slam by Jojo Johnson propelled the Kennesaw State Owls (9-17, 0-3 CUSA) to a thrilling 10-7 victory over the West Georgia Wolves (8-13, 0-0 ASUN) on Wednesday night, extending the series streak to 38-0. This moment marked the Owls' first grand slam since their clash with Jacksonville on April 16, 2023.

Bailey Park was buzzing with power as both teams combined for a total of six home runs, three from each side. These out of the yard hits accounted for 13 of the 17 runs recorded in the game, showcasing power slugging from both dugouts.

How It Happened

The game opened with a scoreless first inning for both teams. The Wolves managed to load the bases in the top of the first, but couldn't capitalize; while KSU went three up, three out in the bottom half.

In the top of the second inning, UWG broke the deadlock with a series of hits, including a single to third base, a three-run homer, and a solo shot, giving them a 5-0 lead.

After a quick three up, three out from both sides in the third, the Owls responded in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run by Hannah Harvey and a two-run homer by Ana Gore, narrowing the gap to 5-3.

The Wolves extended their lead to 7-3 in the top of the fifth with a two-run homer. However, the Black and Gold fought back in the bottom of the sixth, scoring two runs after Ty Hardeman reached on a fielding error to make it 7-5.

Emma Friedel pitched a stellar top of the sixth, retiring the side in order with a three up, three down inning, showcasing her dominance in relief.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Owls loaded the bases with no outs. Lexie Shaver walked to bring in a run, making it 7-6. Jojo Johnson then stepped up and delivered a walk-off grand slam, sealing the 10-7 victory for the Owls.
